Nunhems Kranti (also marketed as Indo-US Kranti 999) is a highly popular F₁ hybrid chili seed variety developed by BASF (Nunhems).
Key Characteristics:
- Plant Habit: Strong, erect plant growth with good heat tolerance (thrives in high temperatures).
- Fruit Size: Length of 10–16 cm and diameter/thickness of 1.5–1.8 cm.
- Color & Pungency: Bears shining, attractive green fruits that turn bright red at maturity. They generally have a low-to-medium pungency.
- Maturity: Green stage in about 75 days; red stage in 80 days.
- Advantages: Excellent self-life for long-distance transport, and strong natural resistance to major diseases like anthracnose and bacterial wilt.
