How It Works (Mode of Action)
Furadan 3G offers a multi-layered defense mechanism through contact, stomach, and systemic action:
- Systemic Absorption: When applied to the soil, the active chemical is easily absorbed by the plant’s roots and distributed evenly throughout its live tissues. This effectively neutralizes hidden, boring, or sucking insects that feed on the plant.
- Nervous System Disruption: It acts by inhibiting the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme, causing an immediate disruption of the pest’s nervous system, which leads to total paralysis and death.
Application Method & Key Features
- Soil Broadcast: Furadan 3G is formulated as encapsulated granules meant strictly for soil application (broadcasting into the field or mixing near the root zone) during or immediately after planting. It is not designed for foliar spraying.
- Gradual Release: The encapsulated engineering ensures a slow, controlled release of Carbofuran into the soil, giving young crops extended residual protection during their vulnerable establishment phase.
- Mixing Compatibility: It can be safely incorporated with most common fertilizers and compatible insecticides, but it must never be mixed with highly alkaline products
